Year 1 Foxes 2023

Hello everyone, my name is Miss Pallant and if you were in Frogs Class last year, you’ll be joining me in the Year 1 Foxes Class in September. I am so excited to get to know you all and I know we are going to have a wonderful year learning lots of things together. Here is a bit more information about me:

As lots of you found out when you met me, I absolutely love reading and I’m looking forward to sharing lots of stories with you. One of my favourite authors is Oliver Jeffers because he writes lovely stories but also illustrates his own books. Have you read any stories by Oliver Jeffers?

I really enjoyed reading all your wonderful letters that you wrote for me – it was such a lovely surprise! I am so impressed with your handwriting and use of Floppy’s Phonics, you are all amazing writers. Miss Jenkins also showed me some of your artwork and I am sure our classroom is going to look fabulous with your work on display!

One of my favourite hobbies is going for walks in the countryside and looking out for birds and wildlife. I especially like doing this in the Autumn when there are crunchy leaves on the ground and conkers to collect. I get really excited if I spot a deer and once I saw a curious fox looking at me from a hedgerow.
As you know, our class mascot will be a fox. Here are some things that foxes do that we can be great at together:

  • They are curious about the world around them
  • They are good at problem solving and persevering
  • They are incredibly caring towards their family.

I wonder if you know any interesting facts about foxes?

Have a wonderful summer - I can’t wait to see you all in September!
